Celebrate your personality

Whether I’m in Australia, Hong Kong or London, I look around and it’s easy to feel lost amongst the distractions of everyday life.  Computers, magazines, billboards and mobile devices are filled with many distractions telling you that you are not the greatest – to feel and look better, you need to be part of a particular trend.

Stop.  Think about what defines you.  What are three things that define you?   How about your partner.  Or your sibling, or parent?  What are the three things that define each of them?

We are all born different.  We act and think different to others.  We have different experiences that form and shape our personalities.  We may encounter others who are similar or like-minded, however they are not you.  Nobody else can be the same as you.  And that is precious!

Your own life story is the core of what defines you.  Your life is a commodity that only you own. If you have had a life of battles and heartache, your victory over the adversities (by still being here) fuels hope and ignites the same passion in others.  In a relationship, you love your partner for who they are as an individual.  Similarly, they love you for who you are as an individual.  It doesn’t matter about what you have or what you don’t have.

Keep building on your life and continue to write your life’s story.  In years to come, it will be far more fulfilling to reminisce on the journey than the destination.
